After training at St.Albans College Of Art, I moved to Cornwall in 1976, where the light and space proved to be the driving force of my painting, preferring to work, whenever possible, outside on the coast, the weather, light and season determining each piece.
I choose to work mainly in soft pastel, occasionally "abstracting" the image further in acrylic back in my studio.

When unable to work outside (rain is pastels worst enemy) I set up flowers and fruits in the studio - more "staged" but just as much about the light on the subject and arrangement of colours, tones and shapes.
Over the years I have enjoyed working and exhibiting in collaboration with other artists, having shows all over the country and Europe, gaining a prize in France, becoming a pastel consultant for Daler Rowney and making several painting trips in Europe and the West Indies.
My work can presently be seen in Cornwall, Bristol and London.
